PSH Recovery, Air Lifting of Dissolved Benzene, and Insitu Stabilization of Dissolved Chromium in a Shallow Aquifer, Natural Gas Processing Plant

Phase-separated hydrocarbon (PSH) was detected on shallow groundwater resulting from a 50-year natural gas processing plant. The extent of PSH, dissolved hydrocarbons and dissolved chromium was determined. Interim corrective measures were installed to begin recovery of the PSH and treat dissolved hydrocarbons insitu, including use of eductor (jet) pumps and induced vacuum extraction. Insitu chemical stabilization and reduction is proposed for the dissolved chromium.
